FAQs on Online Payment



Below are the e-payment modes available to the consumers of WBSEDCL:
  1. Net-Banking using multiple major scheduled banks/Digital Stored valued e- Wallets
  2. Debit/Credit Cards
  3. Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS)
  4. UPI (Unified Payment Interface)/BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money)/Bharat QR Payment System
  5. RTGS/NEFT


Various e-payment modes like Net-Banking, Debit/Credit Card, Mobile Wallet, BBPS, UPI, Bharat QR, RTGS / NEFT etc. are available with WBSEDCL to pay your electricity bill.

  • WBSEDCL Website: You can visit our website https://www.wbsedcl.in & either select tab: Consumer Corner > Pay Online > Online Payment or alternatively you can directly click on the Online Payment options available here.

  • BBPS: You can also pay through any BBPS enabled Mobile Wallet/Banking App by using your consumer id.

  • Bharat QR Code: You can also pay through any Bharat QR enabled Mobile Wallet/App by using the Bharat QR code provided by WBSEDCL at your electricity spot bill after 2 days from billing date.

  • RTGS/NEFT: You can pay through RTGS/NEFT in your exclusive account number provided by WBSEDCL in the bill/quotation after 2 days from preparation of the respective bill/quotation.


Bharat QR Codes for bill payments are available in the spot bills provided by WBSEDCL. After 2 days from billing date, you may open any Bharat QR/UPI enabled Banking app in your mobile & scan the code. Then you will be provided with all the required details for necessary verification and e-payment.


You can apply for NACH registration from the consumer login of WBSEDCL website. The details provided by you will be shared and verified with your bank. Click here to apply.


You can e-pay your bills at anytime from anywhere & can also avail 1% e-payment rebate if paid within due date of the energy bill.


Presently for all kinds of e-payment, transaction charges are 0 (Zero).


Yes, even after due date is over, you can e-pay your energy bill. But no special or e-payment rebate can be availed.


You can download the e-payment receipt either by consumer id (for energy bill payment) or by application no (for quotation payment) from the Download Payment Receipt page at here.


In case of double payment/excess payment, the excess amount will be adjusted against your other unpaid bills/immediate subsequent bills.


For all successful payments, duplicate receipts can be downloaded at any time from the Download Payment Receipt page. However, if you are unable to get the payment receipt even after 48 hours from the transaction date, then you should follow the below mentioned respective processes:

  • Payment initiated from WBSEDCL Website/Mobile App
    1. In case of pending/failure transaction, the details can be viewed the pending/failure history.
    2. If the payment receipt is not available even after 48 hours from the transaction date, then auto-refund process will be initiated against such transaction by the concerned Bank/PG. The refund normally takes 7-10 days to be reflected in your account.
    3. If your payment is not refunded to your account even after 10 days, then you may raise a complaint at the Complaint Management System of WBSEDCL.Click here to raise a complaint along with the evidences like screenshot of transaction, bank statement (if applicable), statement of wallet (if applicable) etc.
  • Payment initiated through BBPS/UPI/Bharat QR
    1. It should be noted that, in case of payments initiated through BBPS/UPI/Bharat QR payment using any Portal or Mobile App of Banks/Wallets/Collection Agencies (authorized by RBI),only the successful payment details are shared to WBSEDCL within 48 hours from transaction date by NPCI, the governing body of such payments. No information is shared by NPCI to WBSEDCL for unsuccessful/failed transactions.
    2. If the payment receipt is not available even after 48 hours from the transaction date, then auto-refund process will be initiated against such transaction by the NPCI/concerned Bank/PG. The refund normally takes 7-10 days to be reflected in your account.
    3. If your payment is not refunded to your account even after 10 days, please follow up with the respective app/payment gateway/wallet/bank app/website for necessary refund.
  • Payment initiated through RTGS/NEFT
    1. In case of pending/failure transaction, the details can be viewed the pending/failure history.
